Preschool Center-based CDA Training

120 Clock Hours / Total Cost: $280

($280 for 8 course set, that is $80 savings, or

$45 per educational course | Eight courses total)

Do you work in a child care center and care for preschool age children?

Child care providers working across the U.S. and on U.S. military bases have used our courses toward obtaining their CDA credentialing. Here at Theoria Technical we offer a CDA credential for the Preschool Center-Based child care professionals.

The Preschoolers Center-Based CDA Training include the following courses.

Planning a safe and healthy learning environment
Advancing children's physical and intellectual development
Supporting children's social and emotional development
Building productive relationships with families
Managing an effective program operation
Maintaining a commitment to professionalism
Observing and recording children's behavior
Understanding the principles of child development and learning

Students participating in the the CDA training program will receive unlimited email and phone support from our CDA Specialists.

Upon completion each participant will receive a "Certificates of Completion" for each successfully completed course. After completing all course section students can submit their certificate of completion to the CDA as recognition of completing the 120 hours of required education training.

CDA- Preschool Courses

Subject Area: 1

Planning a Safe & Healthy Learning Environment

Clock Hours: 20

Prerequisites: Must be able to fluently read and write English.

Instructional methodology: Read written material; view videos; listen to audio segments.

Assessment methods: Multiple choice quizzes.

CDA Subject Area 1 focuses on developing, promoting, and maintaining a safe environment with a focus on health, safety, and nutrition.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LO1: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of how to create and maintain a safe classroom.

LO2: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of how to create and maintain a healthy classroom.

LO3: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of how to establish a learning environment

LO4: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of how to promote nutrition in the classroom.

Subject Area: 2

Advancing Children's Physical & Intellectual Development

Clock Hours: 15

Prerequisites: Must be able to fluently read and write English.

Instructional methodology: Read written material; view videos; listen to audio segments.

Assessment methods: Multiple choice quizzes.

CDA Subject Area 2 focuses on developing and promoting gross and fine motor skills, creative and cognitive skills, and
communication skills.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LO1: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of physical skills, movement, and learning for young children.

LO2: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of how to advance cognitive skills.

LO3: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of how to help develop creative skills.

LO4: Student teachers will learn how to advance children's communication skills.

Social & Emotional Development

CDA Subject Area 3 focuses on developing a positive self-concept, social skills, positive guidance, and implementing culture and diversity into the classroom.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

LO1: Student teachers will develop an understanding of how to build a positive self-concept in children.

LO2: Student teachers will learn how to promote social skills in children.

LO3: Student teachers will learn the importance of positive guidance and how to use positive guidance.

LO4: Student teachers will gain a basic understanding of the importance of respecting culture and diversity.

Building Productive Relationships with Families

Managing an Effective Program

ABOUT THE COURSE

CDA Subject Area 5 focuses on planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, and proper record keeping through different assessment methods reporting procedures, and community resources.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LO1: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of the foundations of Early Childhood Education.

LO2: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of the process ad developmental milestones between birth and age 8.

LO3: Student teachers will develop a basic understanding of
what intentional teaching is and how to instruct using
intentional teaching skills.

LO4: Student teachers will learn how to implement an
effective curriculum.

CDA Subject Area 6 focuses on advocacy and ethical practices, workforce issues, professional development and networking, and goal setting.

LO2: Student teachers will learn how to mitigate workforce issues.

LO3: Student teachers will gain an understanding of
professional development and networking.

LO4: Student teachers will learn to create goals for the

CDA Subject Area 7 focuses on the purpose of assessments, observations, checklists, rubrics, and rating scales. As well as
how a teacher can create their own forms of assessments.

LO2: Student teachers will learn how to develop and use different forms of observations.

LO3: Student teachers will develop an understanding of how to use checklists, rating scales, and rubrics.

LO1: Student teachers will learn about children's motivation and how to develop it to enhance children's learning.

LO2: Student teachers will learn about children's attention abilites and how to develop it to enhance children's learning.

LO3: Student teachers will learn about children's memory and how to develop it to enhance children's learning.
LO4: Student teachers will learn about children's cognition and action, and how to develop it to enhance children's learning.
